COMPACT
As a Teacher, I,
____________________________________________ will
·
Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive
and effective learning environment that enables students to meet the state’s
students academic achievement standards.
·
Model promote the pillars of character and recognize students.
·
Respect cultural and linguistic differences among students.
·
Make learning relevant to students’ lives.
·
Make efficient use of learning time.
·
Provide assistance to students and parents, when it is needed, and
hold parent conferences at least once a year, during which the compact will be
discussed.
·
Assign homework that supports classroom instruction.
·
Regularly provide information about student progress.
·
Contact parents as soon as possible when there are problems.
As a Student, I,

- Attend school regularly and be on time.
- Follow the pillars of character (caring, respect,
trustworthiness, citizenship, responsibility, and fairness), and demonstrate
appropriate conduct.
- Complete school assignments and homework to the best
of my ability.
- Spend time at home daily studying and reading.
- Come to class prepared to work.
- Limit my television viewing, video games, and other
electronic viewing to a maximum of 10 hours a week.
- Follow school and classroom rules.
- Show respect for peers, teachers and staff.
- Show respect for people and property by not using
profanity, stealing, or vandalizing.
- Respect the rights of others to learn without
distraction and disruption.
- Take pride in my school.
As a Parent I,

- Make sure my child attends school regularly and is on
time.
- Make every effort to model and reinforce the pillars
of character at home.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences, and back to school
night, open house, and school activities.
- Support the school by reading newsletters and notes,
volunteering at school, and by attending meetings whenever possible.
- Provide a quiet, well-lit place for my child to study
and supervise completion of homework.
- Support school policies and assist my child in
fulfilling his academic and social responsibilities.
- Provide nutritious food and a consistent bedtime so my
child is ready to learn (Children need 10 – 12 hours sleep per night).
- Provide opportunities to extend and reinforce what is
learned in school.
- Limit my child’s television, video games, and other
electronic viewing to a maximum of 10 hours a week.
- Monitor television viewing so that my child is not
exposed to violence or programs with inappropriate maturity levels.
